I am impressed at how quickly the U.S. Postmaster General's office initiated a response to my email about a possible special food donation parcel rate. I received a call today, just a few days after my correspondence from an office in Alabama where I am located. I explained my idea and was informed my inquiry would be directed to a department that more directly handles such inquiries and that I will receive another call on Monday.
What I am hoping for is a special food donation parcel rate that would allow Americans to ship domestically and as far away as Africa small non-perishable food boxes directly to organizations who will put the food in the hands of those who need it.
One way you can help is by providing name and contact information for organizations who might be able to participate in Hambre.org. For the pilot program shipments withing the United States could begin, starting with churches and other non-profit organizations who could commit to receiving parcels of food and distributing to their members or others in need.
I am thinking of a "motto" or slogan and today thought of "It's that simple: from your hands to theirs."
